POST DINNERS AND EVENTS
From the Commander
Greetings and welcome to Post 496! Although we’re located in Long Beach , we’re known as the "Lakewood Post" to many. We're part of the "Noisy 19th" District. Most of the information that you need to join our post, locate us, or figure out what is happening and when, is located on this web site. If we’ve missed something, please give the post a call and ask the bartender on duty or seek out the board officer you feel can assist you.
Whether you are a fellow legionnaire, Auxiliary member, or a Son(s) of the American Legion, you’re welcome at our home. We have a little bit of something for everyone. Whether your thing is to just come in for a quiet drink, watch some football, or play some pool, it’s available at the Post. If camaraderie and excitement are what you’re looking for – we have that too!
Our Friday Night Post dinners, Commander’s Dinners, and H&H (Howard and Henry’s) Tacos are always a big hit.
We have the Back Home Band and Karaoke with Eddie
Marie on most weekends – so come on in and check us out.

As far as Legion affairs go, we’re involved in pretty-much every facet. American Legion Baseball, Boys and Girls State, Veteran’s Affairs, and more fill our plate throughout the year. If this is what drives you, we’d love to have you come in. We can always use the extra help to make these programs even better. Bottom line – don’t be a stranger. Come on in and check us out. Whether you’re new to the area or just visiting, hit the buzzer and walk into our home. We’ll take care of the rest.
For God and Country,
Bill “Mildew” Miller
Commander
